Orthopedic Associates or Coeur d'Alene :: Labral Repair

Labral Repair

The labrum is a ring of cartilage on the glenoid (socket) where the ligaments of the shoulder attach. Shoulder injuries/trauma can cause tears in the labrum which may cause pain, catching and popping, and recurrent dislocations. Our surgeons use arthroscopic techniques to fix these labral tears, re-attaching the torn cartilage back to the bone. This eliminates pain and instability, allowing patients to return to full activities including overhead sports.
